SOME may feel we need a few new "mugs" at Holyrood to replace some of the current ones, but they have been deemed "inappropriate" by the powers that be.

The Barbara Davidson Pottery at Larbert produced a set of mugs to "celebrate" the parliament, but these have been rejected by the parliament's own shop, despite the backing of her MSP, Dennis Canavan.
