Snp Wins Battle to Cut Fees for Prescriptions

Summary

PRESCRIPTION charges will be cut from GBP 4 to GBP 3, in a move costing taxpayers a further GBP 8 million a year.

The Scottish Government yesterday beat off a Conservative attempt to oppose the cut, insisting that it was wrong to penalise people for falling ill. It wants eventually to scrap prescription charges completely.
