LINDA Fabiani, an SNP MSP and member of the Holyrood Progress Group, yesterday accused Lord Steel, the parliament's first Presiding Officer, of deliberately hiding the true cost of abandoning the project.
Ms Fabiani told the Fraser Inquiry she had been given misleading information by Lord Steel. She did not go as far as accusing the former Presiding Officer of misleading parliament but claimed he had told her it would cost GBP 14 million to cancel the project when it would actually have cost less.See the full content of this document
