A PROPOSED community buy-out of the 93,000-acre South Uist Estate would bring a range of economic, social and environmental benefits, according to a feasibility study.
If the purchase goes ahead, it would be the largest community buy out of land yet in Scotland. It would see almost the whole of South Uist, excluding a nature reserve and former Ministry of Defence ranges, the majority of Benbecula and the entire island of Eriskay passing into community ownership.See the full content of this document
