A TEENAGE sex offender who tried to take a prison officer hostage was given a life sentence yesterday and warned he may never be released.
William Bermingham, 19, attacked the female officer, 40, with a homemade knife in Polmont young offenders' institution. A few days earlier, she had revoked his privileges.
