FOUR years ago, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant created a genuine Christmas classic with the last ever episodes of The Office. David Brent standing up to Finchy and Tim and Dawn finally getting together was a truly moving conclusion to the series. Gervais and Merchant have, understandably, been annoyed at the constant comparisons of their second show to their first, but it's inevitable, especially as they chose to again end things with a Christmas special which followed the template of The Office so closely - only to demonstrate just how ultimately Extras was in its predecessor's shadow.See the full content of this document
