Ride of the scaredy cats

AN ENTERTAINING snippet about media types from Brigadier Andrew Mackay, the commanding officer of 52 Brigade, based at Edinburgh Castle. One of his regiments is the Royal Irish, who played host to AA Gill and Jeremy Clarkson some months back in Iraq. The pair wrote a very well-received article for the Sunday Times about their adventure. Mackay says: "I do recall talking to the Royal Irish about Clarkson and AA Gill who did the Sunday Times piece, and the soldiers found them amusing, but they did find the abject terror that Clarkson and AA Gill displayed constantly... I mean, they thought less of them for it."
