Summary
BRITISH bank Singer & Friedlander reported a 40 per cent increase in ongoing profits for the first half and said chief executive John Hodson would step down at the end of the year. He will be replaced by existing finance director Tony Shearer, who has been at the group for 35 years. Pre-tax profits for the first half of the year was GBP 15.6 million against GBP 11.1m last time.
