SWINE flu has failed to dent demand for long-haul trips, Europe's largest travel company yesterday assured investors as it plotted a course to higher annual profits.

TUI Travel, the UK-based owner of the First Choice and Thomson chains, said holidaymakers hoping to visit Mexico, where the outbreak originated, had switched to other far-flung destinations in search of the sun.
