Summary
TURNBERRY has undertaken a programme of improvements to the Ailsa at a cost of around GBP 250,000 which will increase the number of bunkers on the Ayrshire links to nearly 100 and provide a fitting test for the world's best players when the Open returns to the most scenic course on the championship rota in the summer of 2009.
Stewart Selbie, the general manager of Turnberry Hotel and Golf Club, has reported that work had already begun on the first phase of alterations, which it's hoped to complete by the end of the year.
