HE'S not yet written the ending, but in a fortnight's time Alexander McCall Smith will be bringing down the curtain on 44 Scotland Street, his unique "daily novel" in The Scotsman. On Friday 11 March, the only daily serialised novel ever to appear in a British newspaper comes to an end, and readers will find out how all the various plot lines are resolved.
To mark the occasion - as well as to launch a book made up of the first volume of the series - a celebratory event is to be held at The Scotsman. The author will read a specially written episode, which will form a coda to the series. He will also talk about writing 44 Scotland Street and answer audience questions.See the full content of this document
