A TEENAGER was given a life sentence yesterday and ordered to serve at least 16 years for the "hideous" rape and murder of a woman attacked as she power-walked on a riverside path.

The family of Farah Noor Adams, 34, of Glasgow, condemned what they termed the "menial" sentence given to Thomas Waddell, 19, and claimed that the system for handling 999 calls had failed her.
