HUNDREDS of thousands more people in Darfur will die from hunger, malnutrition and disease unless the rest of the world intervenes, the secretary general of the United Nations warns today.

Writing in The Scotsman, Kofi Annan says Darfur remains the world's worst humanitarian crisis and that only the presence of a large and well-equipped international military force can prevent further suffering.
